To Kelsey at My Sweet Life: Prayers to you and your family, especially sweet little Dennis and the girls.
I just couldn’t do a normal post without acknowledging this unbelievably terrifying night for a fellow mom blogger, and the sisterhood it inspired. Tonight, while out biking with her three little kids, Kelsey of My Sweet Life was struck by a car. All were seriously hurt, especially three year old Dennis, and are in the hospital.
Moms all over may have a zillion different ways of doing things, but all of us are one when children are hurt. Thanks to Busy Mom for letting us know with Twitter. Thanks to Crunchy Green Mom for posting what happened. I imagine we are all spending the night in a similar mental place, as we send fervent good wishes for a complete and quick recovery to Kelsey and her kids.

I’ve been thinking about them all day.

Oh my gosh me too. I kept checking her tweets through tonight’s surgery while I was in a meeting. First time I ever thought about prayer and love while at a business networking event. Probably everyone else thought I was some kind of ADHD IM freak.
I’m just hoping, hoping, hoping little Dennis gets through it with no lasting damage. My sis is a paramedic and she says little kids sometimes come out of head injuries amazingly well. Praying it’s true for him.

It saddens me to have to tell you this, but I think you should read this about Kelsey:

I read your link which, for those not bothering, raises some doubt as to whether Kelsey was being completely honest in her blogging. This information may be as false as the blogger it claims to expose, and one of the things about the blogosphere we all need to be clear on is that you take your chances on a lot of us. In any case, even if Kelsey isn’t Dennis’ mom and instead is “only” his babysitter, the compassion she showed – and inspired – for an injured child is what really counts.
Of course, honesty is important, but she certainly isn’t the first 16 year old kid who ever fibbed her way into a sweet spot either.
